Kailas Pilgrim Road, Tibet
On the May 26th of a full moon in 2002 was celebrated "Sawagata", the biggest festival in Tibet. The 108 pictures shown in this site are selected from about 300 pictures of Kailas pilgrims that I shot during those 3 days from the Sawagata Festival.
It was a year of "Horse" and the biggest festival in every 12 years, so like a fountain, enormous number of the pilgrims came together from all the highlands of Tibet and the pilgrimage road of 25 km that goes around the Mt.Kailas seemed to be occupied by them walking together like a chain.
